HKIT, in association with Field Paoli, designed the Master Plan for the Emeryville Center for Community Life (ECCL), a co-location development by the City of Emeryville and the Emery Unified School District. This project is a unique and special center - a place where schools, community services, arts, and recreation programs are integrated to serve the entire community. Facilities include: two K-8 small schools; a high school; a library; community meeting rooms; administrative offices; two gymnasiums; studios for art, music, dance, and fitness; preschool and before- and after-school spaces; a technology center; parent and teacher resource areas; and a health and dental clinic. The outdoor spaces will include fields for soccer, baseball, and football; basketball courts; and a community garden.
