HKIT was retained to evaluate an existing 1960’s high-rise senior housing facility in Palo Alto. The project entailed examining both functional adjacencies and the building’s architectural opportunities and limitations in an effort to accommodate additional Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing residents. The study resulted in a multi-phase new construction and renovation recommendation. HKIT is designing a new health care center for the lot adjacent to the existing building. Concurrent is interior design work to update and improve a variety of public spaces. The final work is a complete remodel and renovation of the existing facility, including new dementia care suites and assisted living apartments.
