HKIT is pleased to announce that the master plan for Mira Flores was awarded Gold certification under the LEED for Neighborhood Development program. HKIT is providing design and planning for the 80-unit affordable senior rental housing community comprised of one-bedroom apartments for independent seniors. The senior housing component will occupy 1.6 acre portion of the overall site which will also include 150 units of family housing. It is located in a transitional area of Richmond on a 14-acre site formerly used as commercial Nursery. The development is one of just 75 projects in the country to have received at least one stage of LEED-ND certification.
